In Bloom

Even in times of austerity communities will strive to brighten up their surroundings with colour. The long-established “In Bloom” family of events, all tying back to the RHS “Britain in Bloom” is one example.Although there are challenges for parks managers in the public sector, communities continue to want to win and retain the coveted “In Bloom” award-winning status. Our Technical Information Note explains “In Bloom” and shares some experience from an landscape practitioner who has worked in an award-winning location.  It also provides an opportunity for others to learn by gaining insight into what has become a well-loved and effective initiative.
