Join Vectorworks’ Marketa Hermova for a webinar on how to use Vectorworks Landmark’s improved GIS and georeferencing tools to set up OSGB36 / British National Grid projects, bring in OS surveys and GIS datasets, and keep models both numerically stable and BIM‑ready.
You’ll also learn how the Survey Point, CRS selection, and consistent import options across DWG, shapefile, point cloud, and IFC files help you align real‑world locations, avoid “far from origin” errors, and coordinate seamlessly with architects and engineers on UK projects.
Learning outcomes
- Configure Vectorworks Landmark for OSGB36 / British National Grid (EPSG:27700) using the updated CRS selection interface and visually verify coverage for UK projects.
- Use the Survey Point as the single source of truth for file georeferencing and geolocation, including the alignment to known OS coordinates from surveyors and OS MasterMap.
- Import OS-based DWG/DXF surveys, shapefiles, GeoPackage, and other GIS datasets while preserving British National Grid coordinates.
- Bring in georeferenced point clouds and imagery covering UK sites and automatically position them using OS grid metadata.
- Coordinate with architects and engineers via IFC, understanding how Landmark reads and exposes IFC georeferencing information.
