The Landscape Institute (LI) is the Royal Chartered body for the landscape profession and a charity championing the importance of landscapes everywhere. We support members to shape places that provide long-term value to people, place and nature.

The Landscape Institute influences policy, with a current focus being on planning and the built development. We are working to ensure that societies broader needs are met through built development and regeneration. We also support our members through the development of guidance to help them deliver these needs effectively.
Partnership with the LI can support action to deliver nature-based solutions, climate adaption/mitigation, resilient communities and positive health, wellbeing and economic growth. We are open to working with others on joint advocacy initiatives, to carry out research and to develop guidance to deliver our Corporate Strategy. Landscape skills are central to delivering economic growth, housing delivery and sustainability. Partnering with the LI offers a timely opportunity to help shape the future workforce while aligning with nationally recognised education standards. Over the past nine months, the LI has developed a number of careers initiatives designed to connect young people with landscape practice, all aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks and relevant curriculum outcomes. These include the Employer-led Project Programme, already piloted with Further Education partner Capital City College Group, as well as a series of successful engagements during Green Careers Week and Creative Careers Month.
The LI has also trialled Teacher Encounter Days in collaboration with Careers Hubs, Registered Practices and subject teachers, with plans to expand these significantly as a core outreach activity. For the first time, landscape also has a presence on the UK’s most influential careers platform – UCAS. Partner support is crucial to build on this momentum, expand reach, and ensure the profession attracts diverse, skilled future entrants.

The LI runs professional development, masterclasses, webinars and in-person CPD events such as conferences. There are opportunities to sponsor sessions, contribute expert speakers and provide thought leadership on topics that align with your services. The Landscape Institute Awards offer sponsorship packages that will raise your profile and increase brand recognition with the landscape profession and our wider audience. Working with the Landscape Institute and our members maximises value for housing and development projects. LI Registered Practices are at the heart of the landscape profession, raising the profile of the profession, and advancing the art and science of landscape practice. Becoming a Registered Practice helps to build your practice by demonstrating to clients that they are working with expert professionals, backed by a trusted professional body.
